Audio Tutorial
Audio Tutorial, to me, is a great approach to a different style of teaching, versus lecture. It seemed to me that the data suggest that the "conventional" way of teaching is not supperior or inferior to the audio-tutorial approach. It is just a different way of communicating information to the masses.
It seems like it depends on the preferred way of learning for the student. In some studies it showed that the drop out rate for AT versus conventional was about the same. I wonder if the people that dropped out of the AT format would have done better in the conventional and visa-versa because that would have been a better way for them to learn. I can only think of myself in this aspect, because I feel that if this approach would have been available for me when I was in grammer school, that I would have learned the material better, rather than listening to the teacher constantly.
I, for one, believe that the audio tutorial approach is necessary in my field because we have to produce training that can get to the masses in a relatively short amout of time as well as delivery. Audio Tutorial gives the flexibility of delivering the training without having to figure out how to deliver.
In today's society, AT is easier to deliver because we can now use the internet to develop and deliver this type of training/teaching.

Keller Plan
Hey everyone! Sorry it has taken me so long to respond in my blog. I am totally new to blogging so it will take so getting use to!
I am playing catch up and just finished the Keller Plan article last night. I am really impressed that the "online world" has only been around for about a decade. As I was reading last night, I kept thinking that I would have loved to take online classes when I was in undergrad in the early 90's. To me lecture style of teaching is boring anyway (no disrespect to anyone, I just like hands on better).
As society continues to become more engaged in the computer age, as well as continuing to stay extremely busy, the life of the online class becomes more appealing. Especially when you can take a class from home, or like me at work.
Will blog more later.
